24th July, 2015 from Holly Boerner

I am currently teaching the 7th grade level.  My level, Challenge A (7th) has a focus on geography …  We spend the year learning to draw the world map from memory and to label the countries, capitals, states (US, Canada) and features (Mountains, Rivers, Lakes…) …

Your methods of blocking out the continents and countries in easy to draw lines is wonderful!  Some of our students trace maps throughout the year, but we really want them to graduate from that and be able to draw a map on a blank sheet with no other cues.  I think your method will be the stepping stone I needed to help my students who struggle with that.

27th July, 2015 from Holly
Sid,I tried using your method to draw Canada, but it’s harder than it looks!    Would you be willing to create a Canada pdf for our class?  I would be willing to pay an additional charge for it.

[Thanks to Holly, I was motivated to do the Canada Map which is being given Free now along with the World Map ebook]

Hi Siddhartha. Hope you’ve been well. Have you considered making a Facebook page for your Memorize the World Map book? Or perhaps a Kindle e-book? If you had it somewhere where people could “like” it or rate it, I think more people could learn about it.

Siddhartha,
I recently gave myself the goal of memorizing the countries on the globe including latitude and longitude. I was searching the web for hints on how to do this when I came across your excellent pages. I am also very interested in these two future e-books that you mentioned:

1. Draw the World Map accurately with Latitude and Longitude
(only using a pencil and paper)

2. Remember the Absolute Location (Latitude and Longitude) of most of the cities of the world

If you would kindly inform me when you have versions of those documents available, I would gladly purchase advance copies. Thank you!

It’s good to know that the map drawing ability I have gained through yourMAP OF THE WHOLE WORLD pdf will also come in handy in making a map with accurate latitude and longitude.

I just enjoy learning the locations of places in order to better understand the human world. I want to be able to mentally visualize where things are and the best way to do that is to be able to draw the map.

Hi Sid,
I contacted you a few years back and purchased your 2 drawing programs which teach students how to draw the world and the US by memory. Unfornately our computer crashed and we lost a lot of data. I no longer have access to the programs I purchased from you. (See the attached Paypal invoice below).

I thought I had saved the email with the attachment but can’t find it either. Would you be so kind as to send us another copy? Both my boys have benefited greatly from your drawing program, and would like to continue using it.

Thank you so much for your help with this matter.

Blessings,

Jay Stone

Hello,

I just purchased your entire map set which looks great.  I just don’t see anywhere the directions for drawing the main part of NA-Canada, US, and Mexico.  I can follow the picture, but was just wondering if you had a specific way to do this?

Also, I was wondering if I could link your directions on my class wiki?  It is a password protected site that can only be viewed by students in my class.  I would just like for them to have access to practice their drawings as part of their homework.

Hello Sid!
Yes, we did. Thank you for following up with us. My daughter is still pressing towards her quest to conquer map drawing the entire world. I think that your program helped, but it is a process, that takes time.
If you have any further questions, I will let you know.
Glad to know you are available. Also, if you have any other hints, suggestions or ideas to help her in the process we would appreciate them all : )

Warmly,
~Lanya

Thank you for the files. They have been very helpful for my 13 year old son, who is needing to memorize how to draw the world for his geography class. He was discouraged, but your maps have given him new motivation. I will tell the other students in his class about your resource.

Sincerely,

Just a homeschooling mom trying to find new ways to teach my children geography and being able to locate as well as draw the different countries that make up this world we live in. I’m not much of an artist, so I’m constantly looking for ways
to learn as well. Thanks for sharing your knowledge!

Hello,

Yes.  We are a homeschool family.  We absolutely LOVE your maps.  I looked at your South America example and knew it would be a great fit for our family.  Thanks again.  I will let you know if we have any helpful comments but so far we think that everything is just perfect!!  We have told several friends so expect more orders.

Have a great day.

Dear Sid,

I love your method!      I am a grandmother and have been a library assistant for 35 years. As soon as I saw your way to learn South American countries I went to a favorite website (http://www.travelpod.com/traveler-iq/centralsouthamerica) to play a geography game and did much better than before… you have taught an old dog some new tricks.

About 1/3 of my kids have mastered Europe. I think that using your drawings give them a much clearer understanding of where the countries stand in relation to one another than just labeling a blank outline map.

I have the children for 3 years and I’ll make it a requirement for leaving 6th grade that they can re-create all of the maps.

Thanks so much for doing this.  I’ll be ordering the US map at some point as well.

Thanks.

Thank you, I received it just fine. I’m from Alabama but I love to
travel and see new places in the world. I’ve actually tried to learn
how to draw the world on my own, but I think your system works much
better.
